The Aelo Handpan is characterized by a warm and long-lasting sound.
Thanks to its perfectly balanced resonance and balanced vibration development, the Aelo Handpan is the perfect combination of percussion and melody instrument. Even a light touch produces fine and distinctive sounds. This ensures an expressive and detailed sound performance.
The AeloPans are ideal for both beginners and professional musicians. Thanks to their above-average sound volume, they are also particularly suitable for playing in large rooms or outdoors in nature and public spaces.
The Aelo Handpan is particularly intuitive and easy to play and can be used to create fascinating sound patterns. The soundscape ranges from simple to complex. The player is offered inexhaustible possibilities; from more complicated rhythms, virtuoso melodies to touching chords and two-part melodies; the AeloPan can be combined in many ways.
The instrument's uniquely soft, ethereal and mysterious sounds quickly attract the listener's attention. The soothing sound takes you on an inner journey. The fascinating timbre of the Aelo Handpan is ideal for concerts, studio recordings, street music, as well as musical accompaniment for spiritual activities, e.g. yoga, sound therapy or meditation.
The high-quality material, rust-free and corrosion-resistant stainless steel, gives the Handpan its shine and elegant appearance. The material is robust and easy to clean. Due to the slightly higher material thickness compared to conventional stainless steel handpans, the AeloPans are more durable in tuning stability and less susceptible to knocks and falls.
Like every handpan, the AeloPans also consist of two stainless steel shells joined together to form the sound body. During the manufacturing process, the sound fields are elaborately worked into the curved surface by hand and then precisely tuned. As this is a manual process, dents and unevenness occur in the sound field - this is completely normal and is part of the visual character of a good handpan.
The Aelo handpan is professionally and perfectly tuned. It impresses with quality and sound at the highest level. The handpan has an optimal and well-balanced resonance vibration across all tones. There are no disturbing metallic sounds when playing. The timbre is warm and powerful. The resonance of the individual notes is enhanced by the solid stainless steel.

The C# Kurd (Annaziska) Handpan tuning explained:
The Kurd tuning is, if you like, the natural minor variant of the handpan tunings. Due to its particularly harmonious combination of notes, it is particularly suitable for beginners. It can be used to play anything from calm and meditative to melancholy, powerful and cheerful, with a wide range of variations. With the root note C#, the Kurd tuning is also called Annaziska - but it shares the same interval as other Kurd tunings, e.g. with the root note D, E or A.
Even though this tuning can sound very sentimental, it can also be used to create cheerful soundscapes. For example, the second and third notes each produce a major triad. Just be aware that the second and third notes will rub when played at the same time; you can of course use this tension deliberately to add spice to your playing and make the relaxation have a stronger effect afterwards.
This tuning is one of the first seven-note scales to be tuned into a handpan and has become very well known through numerous viral videos on the Internet.
Origin and development of the handpan tuning Kurd:
Kurd takes its name from the Arabic/Turkish maqam Kurd. This tone selection also shares the arrangement of the tones with this maqam, assuming that the tonal center is on the first tone in the circle. This results in the complete Phrygian mode, which is characterized by a semitone step from the root note to the second note of the scale and is responsible for the mysterious sound of the scale.
However, an ambivalence remains, as the DING is a fifth below the first note and thus appears like a second tonal center, which allows the mode to change to Aeolian (natural minor). Depending on how you play, you can switch between a natural minor and a Phrygian sound character. With Kurd you can play anything from calm and meditative to melancholic to powerful and cheerful, with lots of variation.
Kurd shares with other minor variations (cf. Celtic Minor/Integral) the leap of a fifth from the DING to the first note. From this fifth step, assuming that the tonal center is the DING, you have all the tone steps of a natural minor scale (aeolian). Kurd's semitone step between the first and second note is special. This step is also present in the maqam Kurd (Arabic or Turkish scale system) of the same name (cf. semai Kurd), but also in the Phrygian mode. The Phrygian mode is used in jazz, psychedelic rock, flamenco and fado, but also in classical music.
