The Aelo Handpan is characterized by a warm and long-lasting sound.
Due to the perfectly balanced aftertaste and the balanced vibration development, the Aelo handpan is the perfect combination of percussion and melody instrument. Even the lightest of touches produce fine and distinctive sounds. This ensures an expressive and detailed sound performance.

The AeloPans are ideal for both beginners and professional musicians. Due to their above-average sound volume, they are also particularly well suited for playing in large rooms or outdoors in nature and public spaces.

Fascinating sound patterns can be created with the particularly intuitive and easy-to-play Aelo Handpan. The soundscape ranges from simple to complex. Inexhaustible possibilities are offered to the player; from more complicated rhythms, virtuosic melodies to touching chords and two-part melodies; the AeloPan can be combined in many ways.

The uniquely soft, ethereal and mysterious sounds of the instrument quickly draw the listener's attention. The soothing sound takes you on an inner journey. The fascinating timbre of the Aelo Handpan is ideal for concerts, studio recordings, street music, as well as for musical accompaniment for spiritual activities such as yoga, sound therapy or meditation.

The high-quality material, rustproof and corrosion-resistant stainless steel, gives the handpan its shine and elegant appearance. The material is robust and easy to care for. Due to the slightly higher material thickness compared to conventional stainless steel handpans, the AeloPans are more durable in tuning stability and less susceptible to impacts and falls.

Like every handpan, the AeloPans consist of two composite stainless steel shells that form the body of the sound. During the manufacturing process, the tone fields are painstakingly worked into the curved surface by hand and then precisely tuned. Since the process is manual, there are dents and bumps in the tone field - this is quite normal and is part of the optical character of a good handpan.

The Aelo Handpan is professional and perfectly tuned. It impresses with quality and sound at the highest level. The handpan has an optimal and well-balanced resonance vibration across all tones. Disturbing metallic sounds do not arise when playing. The timbre is warm and powerful. The reverberation behavior of the individual tones is reinforced by the solid stainless steel.

mood description:

With this immortal selection of notes (Amara) you can easily conjure up sounds that are reminiscent of times gone by with perfect fifths and fourths. This instrument might have found its place in spiritual ceremonies in Celtic times. Compared to the full Aeolian mode, the sixth degree is absent here, making this tuning a bit more open. Especially in the upper range you can play very nice harmonies. This is one of the most popular tunings in the handpan world.

Characteristic of Amara/Celtic Minor is the jump from the DING to the first note in the interval of a perfect fifth (example DA). This jump in a fifth immediately opens up the tonal space and gives the tones above it a context. The next tone is a minor third above the fifth, which in turn is reminiscent of the natural tone series. From here there are two whole steps, one semitone, two whole steps and the jump of the minor third to the highest note of the temperament, which results from the absence of the sixth degree (Example D Celtic Minor: note Bb).

This tuning sounds particularly archaic, since many pure intervals (fifth, fourth, octave) that were already used in the Middle Ages can be played.

Another special feature results from the arrangement of the tones: In the example D Celtic Minor, the tones on the right side result in the triad of the root, in this case D minor (ADFA). On the left side, on the other hand, all tones of the major triad are one tone below the root, i.e. C major (CEGC). When playing harmoniously, the major sound impression can also be represented very easily. All Celtic tunings have this effect.
Not for nothing the probably most common handpan tuning.

Questions & answers when buying a handpan:

Our handpans are elaborately crafted by hand. Even though our handpans are made with the utmost care and craftsmanship, natural differences in color, slight variations in design and minimal manufacturing marks, such as fine scratches or unevenness on the tone fields and the sound body, may occur.

Visible hammer marks, which are caused by the precise tuning of the instrument by hand, are characteristic features of handmade handpans. They are evidence of authentic craftsmanship and do not represent a quality defect. On the contrary, they emphasize the uniqueness of each instrument.
