Since December 2019, from the very beginning, Battiloro has been part of the Handpan.World Maker network. At Battiloro, the journey through the musical universe began in 2007. A group of friends, musicians and percussionists discovered the potential of a fascinating new instrument: the handpan. This passion for the instrument was combined with the expertise of experienced craftsmen, and thus Battiloro was born.

The Battiloro Handpan is made in keeping with the origins of this instrument and is entirely handmade. The two phases of careful design and sound research ensure 100% Made in Italy craftsmanship. Battiloro's team is made up of highly qualified artisans who dedicate the necessary time to each individual instrument, shaping it, tuning it by ear and finishing it until it becomes an incomparable, unique piece.

Each instrument has its own unique character, like a tailor-made garment, and reflects the personality of the musician who chooses it. We therefore recommend trying the instruments in person. We welcome you and will be happy to help you choose the instrument that best suits your tastes and needs.

About the Janam Handpan:

The space of the sacred can also be a playing field, when the gods themselves cast the dice of the cosmos and of life. Lilah in Sanskrit, the sacred language of Hinduism, means precisely the game of the gods, the pastime of the divine in universalization. Tuned to E Equinox, Lilah shines with a special light, filled with airy and crystalline reflections, vibrating with that light grace that people have when they move in harmony with their inner law.

Mood description:

With this timeless selection of tones, you can easily conjure up sounds that recall times gone by with their pure fifths and fourths. This instrument might have found its place in spiritual ceremonies in Celtic times.
A characteristic feature of Minor is the jump from DING to the first note in the interval of a perfect fifth (example DA). This fifth jump immediately opens up the tonal space and gives the notes above it a context. The next note is a semitone above, which is reminiscent of the Kurd tuning and brings some tension to the scale.
After that, it continues like the Celtic scale with almost always the same intervals. You could describe this tuning as a mixture of Kurd and Celtic.

Suitable handpan tunings:

Very suitable for collaborative, improvisational playing:

Also good for composing together:
