Since December 2019, from the very beginning, Battiloro has been part of the Handpan.World Maker network. At Battiloro, the journey through the musical universe began in 2007. A group of friends, musicians and percussionists discovered the potential of a fascinating new instrument: the handpan. This passion for the instrument was combined with the expertise of experienced craftsmen, and thus Battiloro was born.
The Battiloro Handpan is made in keeping with the origins of this instrument and is entirely handmade. The two phases of careful design and sound research ensure 100% Made in Italy craftsmanship. Battiloro's team is made up of highly qualified artisans who dedicate the necessary time to each individual instrument, shaping it, tuning it by ear and finishing it until it becomes an incomparable, unique piece.
Each instrument has its own unique character, like a tailor-made garment, and reflects the personality of the musician who chooses it. We therefore recommend trying the instruments in person. We welcome you and will be happy to help you choose the instrument that best suits your tastes and needs.

The special stainless steel processing ensures an extraordinary resonance and an extraordinarily long reverberation.
Mood description Major:
Crystalline sounds in the highest tones illuminate a serene tonality, shining like a full moon night.
Major is the English term for major. In the system of church scales, this is also called Ionian. This complete Ionian mode gives you a lot of possibilities. For example, you can play different triads and other chords. But this tuning is also very suitable for playing melodically. The major scale is one of the most important pillars of Western music.
Some handpan tunings are derived from this scale, e.g.: Aegean, Raga Bhupali, Silver Spring, Arkadian
From the ding to the first note there is a leap of a fifth (as in Celtic Minor / Kurd etc.). From here the arrangement of the notes follows the major scale.
You can also temporarily place the tonal center on the first note by clearly accompanying your phrases with the first note. It is a good idea to leave out the DING for a while. This will shift the sound impression from the Ionian mode to the Myxolydian mode. You can do the same with the second note, which will switch you to the Aeolian mode.
Some manufacturers offer this tuning without the fourth note of the scale (example C Major - without F). This makes the sound a little more open and with another handpan that has the note F# (not F), for example, you can switch to the Lydian mode, as with Sabye, for example.
Suitable moods:
Very suitable for collaborative, improvised playing:
- D Sabye
- E Celtic Minor / Amara
- G Aegean
- B Celtic Minor / Amara
- B Kurd
- B Integral
- C Raga Desh
- D RagaDesh
- E Pygmy
- B Low Pygmy
- B Magic Voyage
- B Equinox
- E Jibuk

Our handpans are elaborately crafted by hand. Even though our handpans are made with the utmost care and craftsmanship, natural differences in color, slight variations in design and minimal manufacturing marks, such as fine scratches or unevenness on the tone fields and the sound body, may occur.
Visible hammer marks, which are caused by the precise tuning of the instrument by hand, are characteristic features of handmade handpans. They are evidence of authentic craftsmanship and do not represent a quality defect. On the contrary, they emphasize the uniqueness of each instrument.
